Border Requirement Update
Much work is going on on the national lobby front to ease the effects
of documentation requirements at the US border for land and sea travellers.
Here is an update on what documents you need to travel by land or sea
to the United States.
As of January 31st, 2008, you will need to have government
issued photo identification and proof of citizenship – for example,
a driver’s licence or BCID and a birth certificate. Oral declarations
will be eliminated with some limited exceptions.
June 1st, 2009 is the date for full implementation of
the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative. A passport will be required.
